Brave, foolish or a good idea???

Brave, foolish or a good idea???

As a lot of people have noticed, I have started to ‘behave’ myself in the food-intake department and also started to become a bit more active lately. I also have been focusing a lot more time on my family, rest, recuperation and just generally taking a bit more time to myself (but more about all of that in one of my upcoming posts this week).

I even mentioned that I have found something I originally was going to share with you Sunday and so far haven’t yet and for once, it’s not because I am being overly perfectionist about it, rewriting the same post 10 or so times, but actually because I chilled out and played Video Games with the kids Sunday and quite honestly had such a fun time, I didn’t get to finishing my post (don’t worry, it’s the next post I will work on for you this week and you definitely don’t want to miss why I said that I feel Dale Carnegie made a mistake – YES, before you ask… THE DALE CARNEGIE).

The interesting thing I noticed is that I didn’t get a lot of push-back for taking some time out the way I’ve been, as a matter of fact, I feel I have been getting encouragement from not just my family and closest friends, but also from other sources, such as other marketers who’ve known me for years and even clients from the past.

What WP widget do you use to show your FB and Tweets?

What WP widget do you use to show your FB and Tweets?

There are soooo many options available to help you display your FaceBook stream and Twitter Tweets on your blog that it frankly has gotten tough to choose. While I was taking my hiatus it almost seems like every app, widget and other gadget fanatic came out of the woodworks to add their two-cents (or widget) to the mix.

So here’s my question….

Which widgets do you use and like? Why?

Share with all of us what you chose, why you chose it and of course, and of course, since I have Intense Debate and CommentLuv running, there’s always a link back to your site and blog waiting as my small thank you.

I think this will help a lot of people, not just me, so instead of just checking with some of my closest friends, I wanted to open the podium and give everyone a chance to share.

Thanks in advance,
Xavier

P.s. In case you missed the earlier announcement on some of the social sites… Look out for tomorrow….
I am going to reveal exactly why I think Dale Carnegie is WRONG! (yes, THE Dale Carnegie) – don’t miss it.

Uhoh… Confusion or issue with IntenseDebate???

Uhoh… Confusion or issue with IntenseDebate???

Not sure if this is a real issue or not to be honest, but in my testing today I noticed looking at my dashboard that I show 1 comment being held in moderation as spam. Good, it caught one…
Problem is that when I click the link to go to the spam moderation queue, there’s nothing there, it’s empty. When I head directly to the moderation queue at IntenseDebate it’s empty. When I try to access it through Akismet (ID works together with Akismet) there’s nothing there either???

Egads, wasn’t planning on troubleshooting tonight lol. After yesterday was hoping for a quiet evening and perhaps more than a 3.5 hour nap

Willie Crawford reveals ‘The Product Launch Secret Weapon – The JV Broker’

Willie Crawford reveals ‘The Product Launch Secret Weapon – The JV Broker’

by Willie Crawford

Launching a new product online is NOT as easy as many writing ebooks on the topic would have you believe.
There are many obstacles that you need to overcome to do this effectively.  Let’s look at a few of them, and two excellent solutions.

Assuming that you have a “killer” product that your market has already told you that it wants, your biggest challenge is simply getting the word out.
If you are an unknown you need “introductions” to those who can help you. You need someone who already knows the large list owners to contact them on your behalf and convince them to at least take a look at your product.

Top online marketers often receive DOZENS of joint venture proposals per day.  Many of these are worded so confusingly that your prospective JV partners stops reading them after the first few words.  If you can’t explain your product in only a few words and stimulate interest, you don’t have much chance of getting your JV proposal read.

Checking out Intense Debate to snazz up the site some more and give you more options

My friend Alex Sysoef over at WordPress Howto Spotter just recently tested out this new addition to his blog and I was watching him every step of the way and while there seemed to have been a couple of rather minor hiccups for his site (a very established website with already many, many comments in place), it didn’t appear it would be that big of a problem for my new site, so I took a closer look at what it all can do and well…. that’s what I am doing right now, getting it all setup and activated, so if you see a new version of the comment section 🙂 that’s why.

Crossing my fingers everything goes smoothly hehehe.

Thanks for telling me about it Alex.

Here’s to success,
Xavier

P.s. please keep the feedback coming, I really appreciate it and as you can see from some of the recent changes I am paying attention 🙂
(you know who you are <grin> – meaning you can contact me privately or feel free to leave a comment)

Still working on the new site. How do you like it so far? Checking out some new plugins too.

Still working on the new site. How do you like it so far? Checking out some new plugins too.

Between work, sick kids, cleaning and all the chaos of everyday life it sometimes can be really tough to sneak in a few minutes to continue working on the new site, but I finally got a bit of time tonight to keep working on the layout and more and I hope you like it.

I would like your feedback however, I am creating this site so I can share information with you, information designed to help you succeed, so please let me know your thoughts in the comment section below.

Here are a few of the things I did today:

Added some new plugins and played around with them, then disabled a bunch (going to be deleting some next) to keep the site and servers ‘lean and mean’ – hopefully that will keep load times under control.

Could your link suddenly stop working? Important news you should know.

Could your link suddenly stop working? Important news you should know.

When you are sending out links, be it on your favorite social networking site such as Facebook or Twitter, or you are launching your latest product website links are very important to helping you get the word out to everyone.

Perhaps you just want to share this really cool website you found, or an awesome blogpost or video. Website links are extremely important regardless if you are just browsing around and sharing goodies or a serious internet marketer.

Unfortunately, webpage links can get extremely long and blogpost links are not any better.

The solution?

Shorten your links…

But that’s also were you can run into some serious problems!

Are you hard to motivate? Take a look at these 3 factors that could be making life tough for you

Are you hard to motivate? Take a look at these 3 factors that could be making life tough for you

How do you feel today? Are you motivated? Full of energy and drive? Or did you wake up with zero motivation, no interest in getting anything done and would have rather tossed the alarm clock out of the window?

Let’s face it, some days you just don’t want to feel motivated. You probably just want to crawl back in bed and get some rest…

But there may be some other underlying things that could be making life a bit tougher for you, in particular there are 3 factors that really can affect how easily and how well you can be motivated.

Life can be extremely tough at times, incredibly exhilarating and exciting at others. Sometimes you have to do things you absolutely love and enjoy and are extremely passionate about and other times you have to almost force yourself to deal with those things, errands and tasks that you consider ‘unpleasant’ if not worse. It might be that co-worker you don’t like and you are tasked to work on a project together. It might be something as simple as getting out of bed and getting ready for work on Monday or doing the dishes, getting the garbage out, this list could go on and on. The bottom-line is that some of these tasks, even the really easy and quick ones, can leave you feeling drained and exhausted. They suck out any motivation you may have had to start with and can even make you feel annoyed, short tempered, sad or even sorry for yourself.
